Tips for Sigil events

When Sigils events unlock at Level 5, you will earn half the Sigils listed below and the rewards gems, potions etc., will be related to your level. As you level up the Sigil rewards will increase to the full values (below) from Level 45.

At level 45 Grand Soul Gems will be the gem rewards and this will change to Glorious Soul Gems at Level 60. Some people hold their character below level 60, to keep getting Grand Soul Gems, which is great if you can resist the urge to hit the level up button, or accidentally bump it. Grand Souls Gems are much better rewards than any level up rewards, but this is difficult to maintain.

Sigils are generally regarded as the most important in game currency, more valuable than gold or green gems, so these events should be prioritised. The objective is to gain as many Sigils as possible from each event. Some events are easy, you can take on all enemies and look through secret areas etc without too much trouble. Some events are hard, so don’t feel you need to beat every enemy or collect every chest, the Sigils are more valuable and simply running past an enemy or secret area may be the smarter option.

As general rule you should use the gear the event advises, resistant armour to certain elements and the weapon recommendations etc. If you don’t have the right gear, make it for the event, once you have reached level 45, you should start to collect suitable event gear and temper them up.

One exception, is that often a Stamina weapon can be a better choice than the recommended, as it removes all the heavy ability attacks from the enemy and reduces the damage you take. Once you reach level 45 you should aim to have a Stamina based version of each weapon type (cleaving, slashing and bashing).

Whilst use RE above level 5 is not recommended in the arena, using rings with boosts to RE giving you RE 9 or 10 can be vey useful in events where the enemies damage is all elemental.

Another useful tip is to use increased speed for events where all you required damage is a attack type (bashing, slashing or cleaving). Adding Warlock's ring, using a celerity weapon or light weapon can help kill your opponents much more quickly.

Health potions and resurrection scrolls should be saved for Sigil events and not wasted on Jobs or The Abyss.

YouTube Videos

Zuhn'halvic videos are run throughs of entire event, using warrior style builds and text is in French

Yoshisan videos are from a mage style perspective, show gear used and often have an English commentary. The objective is for new videos to be added in the future to cover all events.

Gretchen the Formidable/The Black Knight videos show weapons and gear, these tend to focus on the fastest way to do the events, and how to avoid enemies rather than chests and resources.

  • 66,000 gold.

  • 1 gold 1 silver chest per level.

First enemy Goblin.
Goblins; 2 fire, 1 shock armour.
A nullify weapon in game
suggestion but used Mephalas Teacher.
Necros; 2 frost, 1 shock armour.
Again a nullify weapon is suggested but used serpentstrike.
Tactic; avoid enemies if you can until boss necro dead then return for the rest.
Raise your weapon to prevent their spell attacks, as their block drops swing two or three times and use strike abilities.
Frostbite spell works well.
Ward (blizzard armour if you have it) staggering bash with nullify shield.
No need for repairs between levels.

From BigEars

The Eldritch Grotto:

2 Hander Tips

Tough event without a shield.
Use Warlock’s ring if you have it, hit goblins with nullify weapon as soon as you can to stop their second spell. Don’t try and use RE, they will LB you too quickly.
You can avoid the first room with 4 enemies completely by running along the left wall to the silver chest, wait there until the wandering Necro is away from the left wall and run through, hugging the left wall to the far passage. Do not stop for anything or you will get caught by 3 enemies.

From Gretchen the Formidable

The Sundered Caves:

  • 50 sigils

  • 101,000 gold

  • limestone

  • 1 Gold chest per level.

Stamina axe preferred for mercs. Nullifying axe for necros, alternative Baridans axe. Used elven shields: (for magicka regen) nullifying for necros stamina for mercs.
Still used a lot of potions.
Tactic: pick up gold chest and avoid as many other enemies as poss. Kill boss and come back for the rest.
Spells; Ward. (Blizzard armour instead of Ward if you have it) Absorb. RE.
Abilities; Dodge, 2 strikes.
Important: use RE asap against necros or you will be frozen by frost bite and ice spikes.
Use blizzard armour or Ward asap against mercs try to avoid power strikes.

The Blades Edge:

  • 50 sigils

  • 208 dragon bones

  • 140 dragon scales

  • 1 gold chest.

Swords and daggers only. Elemental damage is useless, so it doesn't matter which blade.
First enemies are goblins.
Serpentstrike is good against all enemies.
I chose Nullify sword or dagger as effective against necros, Exhaustion blade against all others.
Used Elven stam shield against goblins (first enemy).
Used Elven nullify shield for magicka regen against necros.
Goblin warriors deal out physical damage only, but necros require frost and lightning armor for defense.
One secret area with a gold chest.
3 strike abilities.
No food so absorb is useful to replace health.
RE or Ward a must for necros.

Elven shield of exhaustion. This prevents ghosts using abilities. Also increases magicka pool.
Used blizzard armour and Ward against ghosts.
Switch to shock armor for the Outkasts if needed, but probably not required until later levels.
No secret rooms. Some food.

From BigEars

The Thunder and The Fury:

2 Hander Tips

This is a tough event for 2H, without a shield and elemental damage only, this means PDOC, PDIA and critical hits are worthless.
Stack gauntlets and rings with shock, EDIR and EDOC as much as you can, use shock spell if you have any (Lighting Bolt, Thunderstorm, Delayed Lightning Bolt).
If you can’t see the ghosts properly turn up the brightness on your phone.
Stand at door of the second room and try and take on these 2 ghosts one at a time.

Use health gear (lords mail) exhaustion mace and elven exhaustion shield.
Mercs are weak to poison also
Skeletons weak to blunt/shock.
But found Stam drain works best.
If you have a HEAVY stamina-draining build, it will actually shut them down.
Keeps them from using abilities.
Hold your weapon up to delay quick strikes then use Blizzard armour immediately.
Paralyse spell works well, or poison cloud, but skeletons are immune.
Also delayed lightning bolt very effective.
Use harrying bash level 4.

Curse of the Ayleids:

  • 50 sigils,

  • 208 dragon bones,

  • 63,000 gold.

  • 1 gold chest per level.

Nice and easy and short.
Use a mace of winter (Mephalas Teacher) and stamina or winter shield. Shield bash very effective.
Dremora dish out wall of fire. Wisp mother’s frost: 2 fire 1 frost armour (or Lords mail) with frost ring(s) and neck.
First room; 1 wisp mother, 1 Dremora and weapon stand lever to open the secret room with a Dremora.

The Spectral Forest:

  • 50 sigils,

  • 208 dragon bones,

  • 63,000 gold.

  • 1 silver chest per level.

I wore lords mail (poison resistance) 2 fire armour. ice spike, frost bite and absorb spells.
First area 3 spriggans and key to door in breakable; adjoining area 1 spriggan and silver chest.
Through door 1 spriggan, through door to final area. 2 mercs and boss merc. Switch to bash/cleave resistance armour against mercs.
Tactic; in final area skirt right side around area to kill merc and boss merc then finish off second merc.
Used baridans against all enemies. IMPORTANT (patience in this one) use shield block constantly against all enemies especially mercs.
Harrying bash works well. Blizzard armour/Ward/paralyse useful against mercs

2 Hander Tips

Use Spiderfang as poison causes the most elemental damage.
You can avoid one of the mercenaries at the end by running around the building on the right.
